Hey Brian. For sure not a Marten, but had to look really close. You have a female wild mink there. She's thin which would be common for this time of year as she will be still nursing her kits. Hence her slaughter When I first saw the pic, I was leaning on weasel, but the tail is too long. And being wet it was harder to tell, but after a bit of experience and handling of mink, that's what you have, a north American wild colored mink. If you still have it, keep it, throw it in a freezer, it will be worth some $$$ haha Should add, I know its for sure not a young mink, meaning this years kit as any kits around will just be getting ready to wean and not near big enough to carry out a slaughter you had.
