Hi Guys!
I really like how my young Cayugas are turning out. However, now I have to work on conditioning because they are all together and mucking around. I know from experience conditioning beds work amazing for call, what about something similar but a little bigger for my Cayugas? Thinking about 4x6 conditioning beds on wire with large enough pool of water. Each bed will hold one Cayuga. Has this ever been done for larger ducks and if so, what might be the drawbacks and things I have to look out for?
Thanks for the advise!!!! Woodsy

Brian I have done this several times before with Runners , Rouens and more recently with Egyptian geese. I build a frame work of 2X4 on edge.. and then attach soft plastic garden 1/2 x 1/2 in mesh over it with hex screws with washers . This eliminates the mud factor and is some cases ( depending of the concentration of birds) allows the grass to grow up through the screening. When I had runners I used to run about 20 on a 12x12 area with a 3 foot fence around them... a kids swiming pool in one end of it( off the side with a break in the fencing) .. they were as clean as a whistile on this system . I used to change the water at least once aday and some time twice a day . If the mud ( you know what I mean ) builds up underneith you can move the framwork to greener pastures if you will. I provided a small shelter at the one end and had the pool at the other . Feed in the middle along the fence. This work well for me and helped keep things cleaner ....and aided them in conditioning.. I just caution on not crowding them. my 2 cents TL

Thanks Troy!
I am going to get started right away and will add pictures when finished. I like the idea of making it big enough for a small pool and the sheltered idea is great.
Always great to get someone two cents, Brian
