Jim,
Glad you found this forum! And welcome
This should be a good spot to stay connected and hopefully learn a thing or two all the while promoting exhibition standard bred poultry and waterfowl
I believe if you use a site such as photobucket, you should be able to post pics. Allow me to try later to see if it works or not.
And thanks for the comments on my reds, its greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Darren

I think this is a great idea. I look forward to it taking off. I'm Dave Pauls from Owen sound Ontario and I just started breeding black Wyandotte bantams last year. I have a world of stuff to learn but I have plenty of experience with showing cage birds. I am a quick learner and enjoy showing. I look forward to what this site has to offer. Dave

Welcome Dave and Jim,
It's great you both found the forum. How are Nationals looking for this fall in the Maritimes? We're hoping to bring a truck and trailer load of birds. I haven't been to the Maritimes since my University years. Are there any good Cayuga and speckled Sussex breeders out there? I know there are some really nice runners! Anyways, must get ready for a big set up day at the Ormstown Fair. I think Steph has a good chance with one of his new black Wyandotte cockerels. Pretty sure it is better than the one that won at Nationals last year! I'll post pictures ASAP. We have 540 birds entered plus all the juniors and the showmanship competition. It's a good start for our first sanctioned show but next year is the Fair's 100 year anniversary and we are hoping to make it really special with the new extension and some new cages.
Cheers, Brian

Brian,
Looks like the show in Petty is going to be a success as it always is. Jamie and the boys and girls really do a good job up there. I look forward to this fall show every year! By the sounds if things there are a bunch if Ontario exhibitors planning on making the show. Which is a good sign. As you hope to bring in outside exhibitors for these Nationals because you can't get anymore locals. As far as Speckled Sussex, not sure if you mean largefowl or bantams! I have never seen any bantams around. Largefowl there are a few around not many and not the best quality! I had them years ago but let them go as I couldn't find any good stock to improve on them with! There is going to be a Old English Game Challenge At the National. Stay tuned on the details! I believe Jamie is putting the details in the feather fancier! They do very well at the sale area of the show! So if you have extra stock it could help pay for the trip! Looking forward to meeting you and some of the Ontario boys at the show! I had a good time at the National in Woodstock last year. Did not too bad with reserve old English with a white pullet and Champion Plymouth Rock with a barred pullet.
Cheers Jim
